A couple months ago I was hired by AuthorHouse TM through New Leaf -New Life Inc. to do a portrait of Karl Menninger, MD for a republishing of his book The Crime of Punishment. It was originally intended to be a small portrait for use on the back cover to replace the author's photo, but I walked into my folks house tonight, and there's a fresh copy of the recently released book, with the piece I did smack dab on the front cover! Awesome! So this is officially the first book cover I've illustrated. On a bum note though- they goofed up and didn't credit me anywhere in the book for the art. Not in the copyright, not in the author's note, not in the credits. Where's the love? Shall I also mention the rushed deadline, the additional colored version, the LOW cost of work I quoted, and the Month and a half wait for a paycheck? Insult to injury, my friends. Poorly played. Although I'm not particularly feeling the cover's design, I do however dig the usage of my art in it. Kudos.
