I recently rediscovered my tiny 3"x5" Moleskine sketchbook. I hadn't drawn in it since October of 2006, so I figured it's time to get back into it. I've been sketching people at slow moments, with a micron 02 from the get-go, no pencils allowed. It's teaching me to be more intuitive with my hand, and more at ease with letting the lines happen, not choosing what looks best from multiple attempts. Here are 5 total pages from recent additions, starting with the old guy in the coffee shop in Edwardsville. Next is a guide to dressing like the ultimate hipster, and last is a montage of regulars that frequent the coffee shop where I work, along with a distressed self-portrait. I'm having inner turmoil trying to find someone to give me a ride to the art supply store, but without asking them to. I really don't like asking people for rides.
