Amongst the silly little bookmarks and such that I made to pass the time at the convention, I made a new peace crane drawing for my friend Melisa based on an email she sent me. Here's the snippet:
"I had a vision of one of your peace cranes the other day. I thought of a crane on the cover of a book. I think I keep remembering it because with the crane being made out of paper and the book being made out of paper, it got me thinking about the power of words on paper, and the act of reading, to make peace (or not). And then I started thinking about how written words can fail, so sometimes doing something different with paper (like making a crane out of it) is more effective."
