On Rainbow Cloud; Completed / Days 3, 4 & 5

On Rainbow Cloud, the third piece in my Monkey King series is complete! The clouds were a struggle at first, getting the colors to work together without getting muddy. I saved the value details until last, pushing the dark areas darker and pulling the light areas a little brighter (an invaluable approach to coloring I learned from my tattoo mentor, Conan Lea). So MK rides on a rainbow cloud, something he learned along with his "72 Mystical Transformations." Don't ask me why 72, I'm trying to figure that out. Anyway! Here's the final color-corrected (as best I could), and some fun detail shots... Enjoy!

Close-up of MK's face. I softened up the hair on his head after liking the less-stylized fur I did on his arm. (see arm above) It's still has more value variation than the arm, because I want it to look more like hair than fur.
